The bass drum pattern in this section is a mixture of the "Herta" pattern in groupings of 3's, 5's and 7's

The section is 24 bars long in total. Below is the first 2 bars of the pattern.

The hands play a basic 4/4 half time rock feel but the foot pattern does not fit perfectly in to 2 bars.

One cycle of the pattern

The double bass drum pattern is a sequence which is 27 16th notes in length.

The sequence is:

7 → 7 → 5 → 3 → 5

Practice 7's, 5's and 3's over a 4/4 pulse. Play along to the following exercises.
